I don't understand why people who think you shouldn't wash your hair every day are always so militant about it. Is it a water conservation thing? Because I could understand that. But I don't think it is because, for starters, they never mention water conservation. Instead, the conversation usually goes like this:
--Ugh, I didn't get a chance to wash my hair this morning and now it's guh-reasy.
--You know, you're not supposed to wash your hair every day.
--Yeah, I've heard that, but when I don't it gets oilier than Saudi Arabia.
--That's because you wash it every day. You shouldn't do that.
--Okay . . .
--If you go two weeks without washing it, it will return to a normal balance.
--But I don't want to go two weeks without washing it.
--It doesn't matter what you want. I forbid hair-washing for the next 14 days.
--You . . . can do that?
--Yes.
Tell me: why do they care so much about the state of tresses on other heads?
