Thanksgiving
Chicago.
Christmas
December 21: Chicago to Little Rock. Kito and I are staying with my youngest sister for a couple of days pre-holiday. The first day I imagine we'll poke around the riverfront, take in the Clinton library, possibly see a show of some sort. Day two: Central High, dinner with my aunt.
December 23: Little Rock to Bentonville to Jasper. A mad dash through the state. We set out early Friday morning for the northwest corner (where I'm from) to tour Alice Walton's new Crystal Bridges American art museum with my childhood chum Sare. Later, we join some or all of my three sisters and their respective husbands and drive east to Jasper, where my father, newly divorced from my mother, has apparently built some sort of tricked-out bachelor pad/midlife-crisis chalet in the middle of the woods somewhere. Christmas merriment ensues.
December 24: Jasper to Springdale. Kito, my sisters, their respective husbands, and I drive back to Northwest Arkansas, where my mother still resides, Havisham-like, in the deserted family manse. Christmas merriment ensues.
December 26: Northwest Arkansas to Chicago.
