On today's date six years ago, I posted this blog's first entry. In the year since the last anniversary rolled around, I got a job, attended the wedding of my old pal Sare in Texas, attempted a 30-day raw vegan detox, went to Disney World with my sisters, halted my raw vegan detox after only 10 days, turned 32, toured Atlantic Canada, celebrated my fifth anniversary with Kito in Indianapolis, visited my youngest sister in Little Rock, read 22 books, saw 117 plays, and composed 173 entries for this blog. The latter figure is an all-time low.
Tradition dictates that I now draw your attention to some memorable entries from the past year. In the absence of memorable entries, these will have to do:
Critic's Notebook 7: The Hedyssey, February 21: "Greetings from Havana. I haven't had a spare second to update this journal in weeks, what with my going on the lam to escape false murder charges for the strangling of Mary Schmich."
Critic's Notebook 9: Deadline, April 12: "'Are you fucking kidding me?' I said. 'You murdered Mary, framed me, and ruined your own life all to advance your stupid writing career?'"
Chicago Fun-Times, September 14: "So, What's in Hedy Weiss' Closet?"
Thanks for reading, everybody. See you tomorrow.
