Seeing actor Michael Shannon tonight in the audience of the latest production from A Red Orchid Theatre (where Shannon is an ensemble member) reminded me that I have neglected to tell you about a few recent celebrity sightings.
A couple weeks ago, Mayor Rahm Emanuel sat two rows behind Kito and me during a screening of The Paperboy. Some day I can tell my grandchildren about the time the mayor of Chicago and I watched Nicole Kidman pee on Zac Efron. (And if I had a nickel for every time I've made that remark in the days since it happened, I would have $3.85).
Then just last week we spotted Harvey Fierstein and Cyndi Lauper at the opening of their musical, Kinky Boots (Kito on Cyndi: "She looks high as hell"). Also in attendance: ABC-7 lifestyle reporter and Mary Hart lookalike Janet Davies. She was sporting a blonder-than-normal hairdo and a coral-colored trench coat.
